How to get rid of a nagging cough!? (General Health board)

15th May 2007
It could be allergies, have you tried Zyrtec anahistamine? This is a prescription but works very well for allergies.

You may have bronchitis or walking pneumonia.

I know I have allergies for sure. Um, I've tried Zyrtec in the past to no avail. I'm currently on antibiotics for a sinus infection...so hopefully if it is pneumonia or anything similar...that will help clear it up too?

I noticed today that I am coughing up some pretty nasty tasting stuff...but didn't spit it out because honestly...I gag so bad that I'm afraid I might throw up if I get it in my mouth completely.

All I know for sure is that I feel like I constantly have to cough...and it kinda hurts in my chest and ribs from coughing so much. I don't think I've had a cough this bad in a while. :/

Thanks for the response
