Xanax (Alprazalom) A Regular Guy's Story (Addiction & Recovery board)

23rd July 2003
Im sorry but im stayng on the the K-pins! I've tried everything from phenabarb to GABAtril. Really, I start losing hearing and vision and I get repeated infections during detox. Not to mention seizures. Who gets seizures on 800mg of neurontin and 60mg of phenabarb AND GABAtrill all in one dose. Just cant do it. Anyway, Ive been on them all, NEVER ABUSED THEM! Xanax, Valium, Klonopin, Ativan ect but the drug that I started on was called "Zyprexa" Doctors are so stupid they keep telling me that it's not a benzo. LOOK AT THE CHEMICAL NAME! (thienobenzodiazepine) Does a word in that look familiar?

Cade- What would you compare Zyprexa too?
Is it mild, like tranxene? How did you do on it?
Just looking for some help on my beaner issue.
Thanks, as I too will take K-pin forever, and about w/d's, hallucination is down right crazy  and the "ring" in your ears...... forget it! But I do need to figure how to drop one. Also, if you don't mind me askin', what is GABAtril?? I've been on 800 of nurontin
4x/day and had a sezuire, so I know that part :(
I don't abuse, but the amount I'm prescribed, is enough for 3-4 people!
Please, let me know.

A.C. Zyprexa is an antipsychotic/antidepressant/hypnotic

It's is actually a very good "idea" if you are a raving loony! They call it an "A-Typical" antipsychotic because drugs like Seroquil and Orap ect. do not have those other properties. It blocks dopamine and helps serotonin and gaba. So it's like Orap/Prozac/Valium all in one pill. But it's GIVING people diabetes and KILLING people with diabetes. It's altering blood glucose THEY THINK. I'd stay away from it if I were you bro. I was *****ing about it in 99 and everyone was like "yeah whatever, it's not habit forming" Now that a few hundred people died everyone is stopping it and getting withdrawals. Really dont get me started.

When I checked into detox to kick the opiates I wanted to see if I could do the benzos too. I was laying in the bed looking at shdows just run by on the wall. By day ten I was hiding under the covers scared to death so I gave up and just lost an extra 3 grand because I should have left in 5-7 days. BTW Im going to write you back on the subox thread after this.

Edie - I dont know your era but they are similar to barbituates but MUCH better and stronger. I dont know if you ever heard that song "mothers little helper" by the stones. LOL They help the brain produce more GABA. GABA is a receptor in your brain that gives a "calming" effect. Pain pills like Codiene and Morphine help produce Endorphins (mainly)which changes your body's response to pain. Why the benzos are so hard to get off. I dont know. NO ONE DOES! Remember they use valium for acute seizures too so stopping a seizure med is a big no no.
