anti-viral topical creams for coldsores (Herpes board)

7th November 2005
i have not had a serious outbreak of coldsores for about 2 yrs. (i used to have extremely lengthy and horrible outbreaks)

through these 2 yrs, i've just been using supplements such as lysine and other vitamins and i've been fine, even if little blisters come, they never stay for more than 2 or 3 days.

so when a blister started a week ago, i used zovirax instead... and my coldsore blew up to about 1 centimentre in diameter !!!! and also. now i have 4 lesions!

did anyone else have had this experience? or any positive stores about these topical creams? or any suggestions for topical treatment?

:) (though, not realli that happy !! hehe)

Hi,

I just want to let you know that I tried Abreva today for a cold sore that I got 2 days ago and it works awesome, it is expensive though, I paid $14.00 for a 2 ounce tube, but let me tell you it works. I couldn't believe it myself, I almost didn't buy it and now I am glad that I did.

My lip is feeling 50% better from this morning.
