Valtrex works very quickly. When I have an outbreak I take 3 tablets for 3 days and it's gone. It only took a week or so for Valtrex to start working on suppressing my outbreaks. But everyone is different, so if it doesn't work for you, there are other meds like Zovirax, Famvir, etc. that you could try, so don't give up hope!
