I'm 33 years old and was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in May. I had debulking surgery and I am currently taking chemotherapy treatments. I've been experiencing most of the common side effects from the chemo, and was wondering if anyone had any advice for making it any easier. I take Zofran for the nausea, which seems to work pretty well. I have Darvocet for the pain in my legs and feet, but that doesn't help much at all. And nothing I do helps with constipation.
I have gotten a lot of support from my family and friends and my fiance, Jeff, has been wonderful through all of this, but I have not found any local support groups, and I don't know anyone who really knows what I am going through.
I don't mean to seem like I'm whining. For the most part, I consider myself very lucky because my cancer was stage 1C and my doctor feels confident that my prognosis is very good. Of course that doesn't stop me from worrying.
Thanks for listening,
Mary
