Okay, by 6 month old was diagnosed with ear infections, doc gave him amoxicillan, after 2 days of taking it, he developed a very snotty nose and a hacky raspy flemy cough. after 5 days of taking it, he broke out in a terrible red dotty rash all over his body. Called pharmacist and doc, both said allergic reaction and that he probably already had the start of a cough before he started his medicine. Changed him to zithromax, both pharm and doc said that it would take care of his cough, only been taking this for 1 day, rash has gotten worse, and cough still persists. how long is the rash going to last, and how do you get a such a bad cough after you have been on antibiotics for 2 days? could the cough be part of his reaction too? Someone please help me. I have a really bad feeling that I am overlooking something.
