After several years my sister stopped Ziac yesterday. She thought she was taking a calcium channel blocker (no computer, poor dear!) when all the time she was taking bisoprolol + HCTZ...yet another beta-blocker, but expensive!

She hated the drug and said it made her fatigued, depressed and confused.

There just is no good reason to take these drugs unless you also have either tachycardia, angina, or heart failure. Plain vanilla hypertension is just not good enough a reason.
