   Chest pains (Anxiety board)

My problem isn't as much heart related, although I do get a fast heartbeat once in awhile, but it's feels more like pain in my ribs, chestwalls and breastbone area. Anybody get that?

In answer to you inquiry about rib pain, pain in my chestwall and breastbone area, I have been experiencing the same sensation twice this year. I have many cardiac problems. I take two kinds of bp medications as well as Zetia for my cholesterol. I also have mitral valve prolapse and congestive heart failure. I see my cardiologist every three months because my EKG's have been abnormal.
My last echo indicated that I had some fluid build- up around the lining of the heart which can cause pain in the breastbone and rib area. Right now, my cardiologist is just monitoring my situation. A month ago, I had some pain in my breastbone and back and my family doctor sent me for a chest x-ray and did another EKG in his office to see if I had peri-carditis. It turned out that my shoulder/back pain was from scoliosis. The other day, I got a sharp pain under my breastbone and ribs on the side. I don't know if it is the scoliosis acting up or some heart related thing. But I will be mentioning it to my cardiologist in January.

I think that a visit to your doctor is in order.
