I wouldn't suggest weining yourself off like others but how about switching doctors?
I can tell you that I started out on Atenolol and hctz and it didn't really affect it too much. I then went to Lopressor and the only thing I got from that was a crushing case of depression without a reduction very much in the BP levels.
When I started Zestril, my BP nose dived but it caused muscle pain. So then I tried Diovan and now Benicar.
If I could lose the weight and find my place in life career wise, I would not need any BP meds.
