Hello all! I went for my regular mammogram on Friday. I always try to get the person taking the x-rays to tell me anything about my films-probably not a good idea! Anyway, she took my films to make sure they were clear and she wouldn't need to take anymore x-rays and came back in and told me I could go ahead and get dressed. I asked her if she thought I would get a call back (I had told her previously that I get call backs a lot), she said "I wouldn't be surprised". I said something like "What, did they look that bad?" She said something about how so many people get call backs and they are common. She then said something like "Look at it this way, it is better to get a call back sooner then later". I know I suffer from "health anxiety" and always think that my x-rays are so bad that everyone gathers around to look at them after I leave the building. I hate the fact that they operate on a "no news is good news", and leave you a nervous wreck everytime the phone rings. Can anyone give me some reassuring thoughts about my conversation wth the x-ray tech? Does anyone know if they get good enough looks at the x-rays to determine our faith? I also told her that I have been taking the Vivelle Dot (estrogen patch) for close to a year. This also adds to my anxiety about bc. Needless to say, I have been checking my breasts constantly (sorry about the visual), and can't pinpoint any obvious lumps, but then again, what do I know? Sorry this is so long!
