   Asthma question (Asthma board)

4th July 2007
hey there,
i am 21 y.o and have had asthma all of my life too. and as like you, i have been a guinea pig trying different bronchodilators available with no help what-so ever. i live in australia, so my meds are prolly different to your, but at the moment i am taking seretide 250/25 mdi (strongest steroid available) 2 puffs twice a day, and using my ventolin reliever many times daily aswell. presently, i have a chest infection so am taking prednisolone and augmentin duo forte to get rid of the inflammation and infection, and have used the nebuliser a few times a day the past week.
have you been to see a respiratory specialist?? maybe you could ask your regular doctor to refer you to one. or even an allergist...this could determine what flares up your asthma (like all of us dust, pollens etc)
do you have any other problems? or social aspects for your asthma to be like this (i.e smoking?)
my older sister, who is 23 y.o has these same problems and there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel for either of us!!
good luck hun,
love nic
