Some thoughts from my experiences (Asthma board)

23rd January 2007
Good morning everyone

I just was looking at this board this morning, I belong to another board. My 10yr old son was born with asthma, ezcema and a heart murmer. These two conditions go hand in hand. I am happy to say that he is under control, one hospitalization this fall, and only two ER visits in the spring.

He is on 10mg a day of singular, (tried 5mg not strong enough), 125mg of Hydroxine (antihistamine), flovent, flonase, and ventolin. Now he only takes his pills everyday of his life and now (finally) the puffers are only needed at the bad times. Colds, spring and fall for allergies. I read here today that people have found they have food allergies. They never did test Justin for food allergies, but he is allergic to the whole world outside these doors!!!

But we know now, so he doesn't play outside when it is windy, in the spring time he can only go out for short times and it has to be no wind or he is in trouble in seconds. Scary business you people have to live with.

But the lord only gives us what we can handle and what makes us stronger. So much so that my 10yr old helps a little girl in his grade 1 buddy class, with her asthma, because he said it feels better when you help someone else, makes you forget how sick he is.!!!! What a kid, love him to pieces!!!!!

Anyway I am a sympathatic ear, and have done a lot of research and asked a lot questions of Justin's 5 specialists and 1 GP!

God Bless you all:angel:
