Yes, I THINK.
After a long time on Cozaar I went off for a month. When I reintroduced them I got THE COUGH. No other respiratory symptoms except the dry cough.
I know it's the ACEIs that typically cause cough but some people, not a TINY minority, get the cough from an ARB as well.
I don't know the mechanism, but it PROBABLY involves bradykinin because it feels IDENTICAL to the Vasotec hack.
In fact in a study of 129 patients who developed THE COUGH when given ACEI's, 20% of them developed THE COUGH when given valsartan. (This from the Novartis Prescribing information for Diovan.)
Primary reasons though for discontinuing Diovan are headache and dizziness.
