I don't know why I hadn't noticed this thread before, because I also am bothered by facial hair. I've always had very light peach fuzz, but a few years ago there just started to be more and more of it. (I read somewhere recently that bcp can cause this - and I was on it most of my adult life  ) Anway, I'm very embarassed about this abundant peach fuzz on my lip and chin. It's even more noticeable on the sides of my face. I've been doing a little of my own waxing and plucking, but am not very good and getting rid of all of it, but most of it. I did a free consult recently at a dermatologists office that does laser hair removal and laser skin resurfacing, peels, etc. She told me that light hair just doesn't do well in laser removal so that is out for me. She did tell me about a topical product called Vaniqa (you have to have a prescription) that will reduce the hair growth. It's good to use in combo with other hair removal (like waxing, creams, laser, etc) But you have to use it constantly. Anyway, I'm going to make an appointment (because I have a weird dry spot on my nose for the Derm. to look at) and maybe get a prescription. I'll have to save my pennies for the laser resurfacing - VERY expensive.
ALSO, I've heard that if you wax your upper lip (or other areas) be sure to use sun screen. For some reason, your skin will be very susceptible to the sun afterwards and you can end up with a dark shadow. I worked with someone that this happened to and she was very upset because she'd had hers done in a salon and they didn't warn her to use sun screen.
