absoultely normal....herpes and shingles follow nerve routes and actually break out along nerve pathways....i had it once and it almost drove me mad. it itches, stung, burned and HURT. there's not too much they can do about it but prescribe something like valtrex and some creme to help with the itch. it is a thing that must just run it's course.i know, bummer huh?

the pain, itch etc.. lasted about 2-3 weeks for me. i hated every minute of it..i was absolutely miserable.... so i feel for your friend. like i said, only thing i know that could help would be something like valtrex and some kind of creme to put on....otherwise maybe some advil or other pain reliever may be of some help.....have her call her doc or maybe even a pharmacist to see what options she may have to try to feel better while she goes this. tell her to hang in there....it will go away.....and be careful about scratching...can cause scars.....put on an overn mit to scratch yourself so you don't open the skin up....could cause infection...............best wishes.............keep me informed about how she is doing.............................peace:angel: :wave:
