[FONT="Comic Sans MS"][COLOR="Navy"]I don't know why you were taking Armour in the first place. Knowing that might change my opinion, but since I don't know there is any compelling reason ....
Most hypos, given enough T4 gradually increased over time, can convert T4 to T3 adequately even when the thyroid can't produce enough T4 and needs help.
I think it is more likely your palpitations are caused by too much T3 rather than too little T4. You have a couple of options to discuss with your doctor: (1) either adding T4 (Synthroid, Levoxyl, Levothroid or Unithroid) to bring that level up and, perhaps, decreasing the Armour if the Free T3 lab result indicates that; or (2) swtching to a T4 med (Levothyroxine is the generic name and Sythroid, Leoxyl, Levothroid, Unithroid are brand names) to see if your body will convert T4 to T3 naturally.
While low T4 probably isn't the cause of the palpitations, yes, if the free T4 hormone level is too low, there is a possibility not enough will be available for conversion to the active T3 hormone when it is needed. If your T3 is really high constantly, it may not be an issue presently, however.
