This sounds simplistic, but the choice is the one that works for you.
All T4s are safe. All have been recalled at one time or another - with the possible exception of Unithroid (if I remember right). They all have ingredients that are allergenic in some people. The side effects are, 99% of the time, related only to improper dosage, too high, too low, or fluctuation of hormone levels during titration up or down.
The only generalization that's safe to make is to avoid generics. Each manufacturer's version of generic is different from the other. Your pharmacy buys the generic that's the best price for their bottom line, so you could end up with a different product each time you refill.
Most doctors have a "pet" brand that they prescribe first, and won't allow you a choice anyway.
Hope you figure it all out!
