Vicodin/ultracet/ambien were my drugs of choice. My addition to pain meds started almost 2 years as I was diagnosed with 2 herniated disks and 3 pinched nerves. I was taking at least 12-750 mg of vics plus ultracet and ambien daily. I will say that prior to that I took vics for migraines but not to the extent that I took them for the disk problem.
I still have pain but it is controllable with OTC drugs. I decided to taper and then did CT. I was a functioning addict(so I thought) and no one knew. Not even my husband of 30 years. I used only the support of these boards to get clean. My clean date is Oct 3.
