I started taking the ambien because I have peripheral neuropathy that is extremely painfull most of the time. I usually take benadryl to help me sleep but I was noticing the lack of effect recently. With the pain I am always having some kind of anxiety but the only other time I have ever had this response was when I got addicted to Ultracet after only taking it for 8 weeks. No matter how stressed out I have ever been, never have I had palpitations except for when I have gone off of these drugs. I am glad I caught this one early because last time I thought I was going to die. I think I am just one of those sensitive types. I started taking a beta blocker soon after I started getting the palpitations. It is what I used last time. Last time I went through the withdrawal I never could get my doctor to believe it was actually a withdrawal. I went to see a shrink who thought I may have a slight anxiety problem and he gave me a couple of klonopin wafers. He told me to take one that night to see how I interact with them. About 5 minutes after I put it under my tongue I became extremely restless. It defintely was not right for me. I really think I am one of those people who is an exception to the rule.
