As a long-term sufferer of insomnia (17 years), I can only tell what has helped me (somewhat). I turned out to have sleep apnea so I use a CPAP machine. In addition, I have anxiety/panic attacks/agorophobia/bi-polar/and PTSD, so I take meds. I take Lexpro, Trazodone, Trileptal, and Xanax. The combination of these particular meds and the CPAP machine have made a remarkable difference over the past year. However, I still have times (during high stress) that I have sleep anxiety (trouble falling asleep) or depression where I wake up early.
