[COLOR="Blue"]I have switched to whole wheat bread and spag, steam my vegs, hardly ever fry and try to watch what I eat. I need to have more fruit watch labels better, eat on a reg time schedule and give up so much cheese (I love cheese) as far as looking at things I have already looked at I did'nt think of that. Very good idea. Thank you for your input. I will let you know what is happening. I have another blood test coming up Mon.
Hi Nana
Was struggling with many of the same problems as you and doing the things you have done. Had to be taken off lipitor also, but because of depression. After 6 months of taking Omega 3 Fish Oil... two capsules, twice a day... and vamping up some walking and moving, I maintained my cholesterol at the same level it had been at when on 40 mg a day of Lipitor. Same thing with my med for sugar.. I was 'pre-diabetic.'
My doctor has kept me OFF the sugar med (ummm.. tricor?), and put me back on a low dose generic cholesterol med until June, when I take the blood tests again. Hoping I will be taken completely off the generic statin.
One last thing... I also take a dose of Co-Q10 (in supplement aisles) to counteract the fatique and the muscle bone problems that statins seem to inevitably cause.
The fish oil and the Co-Q10 are both remarkable all-over body supplements that many need. Try some research maybe and think about these supplements for yourself.
Best wishes
