Chronic Bad Breath (General Health board)

28th July 2006
You guys... have to see your doctor about this. Just do it to get it off your chest at least. I told my doc that I had trouble breathing, had massive pnd and rank breath. He ordered me to take a blood test (still awaiting results) to check for allergies and told me to see my ENT. After the visit he gave me a sample nasal spray called NasacortAQ (triamcinolone acetonide) and said if it worked it would take about 2 weeks to notice. It's been about 1 week and there has been significantly less pnd and better saliva flow. My ENT told me I had a deviated septum and an enlarged turbinate that blocked my breathing and recommended surgery in a few weeks. I am going to get a second opinion on the surgery because this nasal spray has been somewhat effective. However, I may consider the surgery (septoplasty & turbinectomy) anyway if I can get a rhinoplasty at the same time. Good luck all and seek professional help because that is their job! Plus it feels good to confide in someone.

Take Care,
David
