Slight Indents on the Face (Acne board)

18th November 2006
I've been using Tretinoin for about 3 1/2 months now and I've recentley noticed that I've developed some slight Indents on my face. I would assume they are superficial, because they are only noticeable to me when I'm looking into the mirror when the room is a darkened. Some of them are in spots where I've had acne before and some are in spots where I haven't.

My question is.
Should I be concerned about this or is it a natural process of the Tretinoin. I'm using Tretinoin at night, with Duac during the day. I'm also been taking vitamins like Zinc, Vitamin E, Copper and Fish Oil. Is it possible that taking these vitamins could be causing this?

Any information will be helpful.

I don't think tretinoin nor vitamins cause indents. Tretinoin is supposed to help indents a little bit. Maybe you just didn't notice the indents before? Those that are in spots where you've had acne before are certainly scars left by acne. For those in spots where you haven't had acne, I don't know.

Anyhow I had moderately deep indents (about 2mm) on my forehead and they're gone after one year's use of Silkia camellia oil and Epidermx microdermabrasion. They are visible only if I look close into the mirror. I have a few indents on my upper lip also and they have smoothed out a lot. If the indents are bothering you, you might want to give them a try also.
