I kind of have the same problem
I believe if they don't fade away within 12-18 months that they are considered acne scars.
My dermatologist told me some people get acne is the same place over and over and think that it's not improving, when in actuality it's like restarting the healing process.
So if you have any trouble areas around your chin or anything like that I suggest going to a dermatologist it getting that under control first.
Tretinoin helps speed up the skin shedding process and helps the skin renew it's self.
That's the treatment I'm on. I've only been on it for 2 months and although I haven't noticed much of a difference it could be because a number of things.
As for straight up getting rid of them I believe Microdermabrasion and Chemical Peels help even them out if you get them done in a series.
I hope this was of help.
Goodluck.
