   excessive oil (Acne board)

6th January 2006
Hi,
I don't really have acne.. I get pimples but I seem to have those under control.. my problem is that my skin is really oily, and it looks very shiny and greasy. I am currently using something called "acnefree" (which is like a cheaper version of proactiv, it's benzoyl peroxide, a 3 step system) and I use prescription tretinoin at night. It's worked on the pimples pretty well, but my face still gets really oily, (especially right AFTER I use the acnefree.. which I find odd)

I use some oil-absorbing sheets about once a day but it's still very annoying.. I know there's a pill that can keep oil secretions down but I don't know if I"m willing to go on medication!
anyone have any home remedies?

thank you :bouncing:

Perhaps you are drying your skin out too much with the acne free system, thus causing your skin to produce more oil to compensate. If you are using tretinoin, you should cleanse with something mild. You may want to try Cetaphil for oily skin which is mild, yet may help with your oiliness.
