just want to add that sleep is a big part of how you feel, and poor sleep can only make depression worse. speak with your physician and consider getting a rx for a temporary sleeping aide, such as ambien, trazodone, etc. then, get your sleep cycle back on track and stop sleeping in spurts, you are only making it worse. also, avoid alcohol, caffeine, tv, and all the usual stimulants before sleeping, etc...that's what I would do.
