I too (per my doc) have acid -reflux. I already take BP med and toprol. Toprol gives me nightmares and lately I've had this reflux and an unpset stomach...I also had previously taken Naproen (for about a month for lower back problems) and the Ibuprofen for another month.
I think all of this together has caused my heartburn and reflux...the doc says no...I say yes. I stopped taking the Naproxen and Ibuprofen. She said to try OTC meds...Prilosec, Zantan whatever....I don't want to take another medication.
I did alot of research on the ACV...I tried it before each meal about 2 tsps in 1/2 or full glass of water w/ some honey...it does burn a little going down, but I do get just about immediate relief...no more heartburn..I eat a very, very bland diet...no coffee, chocolate, fast food, fried foods, no alcohol or spicy foods, don't smoke....only drink water (was drinking cranberry juice for UTI's, but stopped that too)...
No more waking up at night with the need to belch...my stomach still is a little upset at times, but not too bad...I'm wondering if maybe I should ask to go off the toprol or at least decrease the dose and use an OTC med for the reflux to heal my stomach and then go back to the vinegar. I don't know if my stomach will heal on it's own with using the ACV...but I do feel better...I 've only been doing the ACV for 7 days.
