panic attacks and asthma? (Panic Disorders board)

22nd January 2006
Wow....and I thought I was the only one doing this. I have asthma and COPD, and also have frequent panic attacks. After reading and reading I learned something, a little scary, but I learned. I've been alergic to epinephrine and albuterol and didn't know why. Then I had a serious reaction to theophylline. All this along with the panic attacks when I'm stressed or upset. What I learned....epinephrine is adreline. Under stress or trauma your body gives you a natural shot of adreline. So.....I haven't talked this over with my doc yet, but it sounds like I'm alergic to stress, being upset or any kind of trauma....ie alergic to adreline. Don't know if this makes sense, but it does in light of when those "panic" attacks happen. My blood pressure and pulse rate go through the roof and I have extreme muscle tremors. Might be worth looking into for you.
