   ambophyllin (Allergies board)

15th August 2007
I have been taking ambophyllin on and off for the last 10 years (Steadily for the last 2 years, due to an "environmental flare up"). I started taking it when I had a horrible reaction to all the steroids I was getting to treat my asthma.

Information that I have read states that is an "ethylenediamine salt of theophylline". It causes bronchial muscle to relax. It also states that it is related to caffeine which steroids are not.

Obviously, not every medicine works for every person (I wish it did). I know I am naturally biased because it has made such a difference in my quality of life, but for those people who can't find a more convenient or effective solution, it may be worth a try. Its definitely worth looking into.
