3 years ago I had something so similar---it must be the same thing. we were at the beach in Florida... After 3 days I started feeling like I had a heat stroke.
I had low grade to very high fever along with bone shattering chills and my teeth racking together...My muscles and bones hurt so bad i could not walk and did not want to frankly. I don't recall nausea ( but maybe I did)
but I had fever from 100 -103.5 for over 2 months. Mine would come on me very punctually...10-11 in the morning and not subside til evening after i had taken motrin. then I would be able to sleep during the night then next day it would start again. The bed would literally shake from the chills.
I was losing weight and getting weak. Sounds like malaria, right?
I finally was sent to an infectious disease specialist by my doc. This guy tested me for everything from tuberculosis to malaria, west nile virus, yellow fever etc, everything he could think of. they sent samples to the state of Texas to rule out more than 20 different things.
No poisons, no tropical diseases, no cancers, no auto immune diseases, etc.
Nothing showed up. I was told the next step was an MRI to find a tumor. Yep that is what they said. My intuition told me it was not that. After two months I started to get better. But not until I had lost 15 lbs and looked pretty bad.
Then it dawned on me--- ---12 years ago I was in the woods and a tick did get on my back and I had the usual bulls-eye rash. So i took tetracycline for two weeks back then. But now I am hearing that two weeks of it was not enough. so what to do now after all this time. I pray this does not happen again.
I feel for you if you have what I had. I would say acid reflux is NOT what is wrong. acid reflux can make you uncomfortable and not sleep at night, but fever, chills so bad you shake the bed??/ No that doc is just putting you off because he does not know what is wrong. check for LYME.
They say that fever that lasts for weeks means something usually is wrong.
But in my case, it must have burned up whatever was wrong with me. I just remember that my doctors and the nurses were very nervous.......
