Plexion, yasmin, tazorac, what more?! (Acne board)

18th August 2006
Might be good to have your hormones checked, including thyroid and adrenal, but especially estrogen and progestrogen. They all contribute toward healthy skin.

I went through the antibiotic creams and Retin-A.

They worked for a few years. And, then I would develop an immunity, and they wouldn't work any more. Then we would switch to another one. It would work for a while. And, when it stopped, then we would switch.

Finally, I ran out of creams. I tried tetracycline and it gave me yeast infection. I refuse to take anything internally for something on my skin. So, when all the creams stopped working, after 15 years or so, I gave up and went to the local health food store and bought Pine tree soap. And.... it worked. I still am on benzoil, but none of the other creams. No Retin-A. Pine Tree soap and benzoil. It works all the time except during my peiod I may have one or two blemishes.

I take Yasmin, but that is for PMS. Don't know if it helps with acne.

Everyone is different I am sure. Remember to check the hormone levels.
