I have had this same problem for almost 8 years. 2 years ago I finally got the nerve to see the dr. about it. She thought the skin "looked strange" and wanted to do a biopsy. This came back normal and she prescribed an ointment to be used everyday for a week. Then just twice a week. I can't remember the name, I'll look when I get home and repost. This ointment has helped but I will still occasionally tear. The dr. said the scar that forms doesn't have the same elasticity as normal skin which makes sense.

Ok the brand name of the ointment is Temovate .05% Cream. Generic name is Clobetasol Propionate Cream. Ask your dr. about this.
