bloating getting worse - note to Harry (Digestive Disorders board)

10th April 2008
Smitty,
Glad you're back safe and sound!!

As I have said -- we are all different and we all have different burdens to bear-- it seems they just become heavier the older we get. I am glad the Diovan is working for you.

I have been interested in reading about and using different diets and how to control yeast problems since Dr William G Crook, MD wrote his first book -"The Yeast Connection" in 1982. Also, Orian Truss, a reseacher on yeast wrote a book "The Missing Diagnosis" & its multiple of problems caused by yeast and John Trowbridge, MD and Morton Walker wrote "The Yeast Syndrome" in 1986.

Like any sickness or disorder yeast affects people to different degrees and in many ways and controlling it there are also stages that as you progress getting well you will experience. I think with severe yeast problems whole grains like oats, brown rice, etc and the low sugar fruits are not tolerated at all but as you get better they can slowly be re-introduced to your diet.

It can be confusing to us because some people are dealing with female yeast infections, others are only dealing with thrush in the mouth or nails and there is the gastro problems that many doctors don't even accept as a problem.

I can usually low sugar fruit eat berries and pineapple but not bananas at any stage of yeast I have. Sometime even cantalope.

Also, since these books were written more updated books have been written and some better anti-fungal drugs have been developed and marketed --- Like Diflucan and Sporanox. And, of course the wealth of information available online. But, as we search there is some miss information so you have to be careful.

I started having problems with yeast years ago when taking antibiotics for chronic divertiulitis. I ended up have 2 1/2 of my colon removed 3/4/2002.

God Bless---Harry
