In the past, I had nail fungus and was on Lamisil and Sporanox (at separate times). The meds cleared up my fungus but it came back on my big toe. I went back to the same doctor who took a culture and said that I had a fungus and prescribed the meds again but the nail never cleared up. Went to another doctor (b/c I relocated to different state) who asked if I had injured my nail and I said that I didn't remember damaging the nail and he said that I would have to live with the nail b/c I shouldn't be placed on any more meds and Penlac doesn't work. I read on this board about Vicks VapoRub and recently started using twice a day. My question is will my nail ever clear up or will I have to live with the ugly nail as the doctor stated? And with the Vicks, how will I know it's working?
