Quote from malibubarbie999:I was recently prescribed Xanax for panic attacks. I was diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder when I was about 16 (I'm 21 now) and I've taken both Effexor and Paxil for it. Neither drug helped me one bit. Over the years, my anxiety has developed into an extreme panic disorder. I get panic attacks (very intense, long-lasting ones) about once a week.
My question has to do with drug interactions. Since I'm a hypochondriac, the thought of dying from my meds freaks me out. I currently take Yasmin (birth control), Adderall (for ADHD) and Vicodin HP (for a knee injury). I'm wondering if anyones heard of Xanax interacting badly with any of the above meds. Or ANY meds for that matter.
Should I be aware of any med interactions with Xanax? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Nizoral and Sporanox (anti-fungals) can affect Xanax. Xanax can increase the effects of antidepressants, alcohol, antihistamines, sedatives, pain relievers (Vicodin), anxiety medications, seizure medications, and muscle relaxants.
Antacids may decrease the effects of Xanax.
