speaking from experience...
for some people, mild and moderate acne is hormonal. diet cannot fix that.
sometimes you have to alter your natural hormones to fix it. that is usually done by taking pills, and not all pills for acne are antibiotics and accutane.
my doctor suffered from acne at the same age as me. she knew exactly what i was going through, so she prescribed the topicals that worked for her. but guess what? they did not work for me.
she prescribed spironolactone, which works as a hormone blocker and is also the drug in the birth control pills that help with acne. after years of suffering, spironolactone is the ONLY thing that has significantly helped my mild yet incredibly stubborn acne. not diet, not topicals, not anything i tried without a doctor. without help from my doctor, i would still be suffering.
