I am also a 31 year old mother of three. I also have had cystic acne that would scar. I did not have this type of acne as a teen. Just since having children. I have tried so many lotions, potions, pills, anti-biotics, diet changes and nothing worked. The only thing I have not tried is accutane. Well I did some research and found something called Spironolactone. I asked my doctor,(not dermatologist) if she could prescribe this to me. Anyway I have been on it since January (9 months), and to my suprise I very rarely get cysts. I would not even call them cysts anymore, just an occassional pimple. This medication has really helped my life. I am not so paranoid about my skin. You should check out all the threads on spiro.
