New here and have RA (Arthritis board)

19th October 2006
Hi D.Reardon,

You are young to have RA, but I guess there are people that get it early. You do need to keep going to a rheumatologist. If you do not like the one you are seeing, find a new one. I love mine, who was referred to me by my family dr. It does take several months - to years to fine tune (and it changes) the meds and treatments for RA. Each person is different.

Naproxen can hurt your stomach, if you take too much of it. I cannot take anything but tylenol and not too much of that, so I do use Ultram and Skelaxin. I used to be on Methotrexate, and it looked like it was going to work, but had to get off because of surgery and then sores on my body, for another reason and time so my dr. is trying a new med. on me.

You just need to research the drugs for RA: Methotrexate, Plaquenil, and several others. Hopefully more people will write and tell you how their drugs for RA is doing.

Good Luck,

Wannabe
