A cause of LPR - maybe? (Acid Reflux board)

24th December 2006
Eosinophils are measured by a simple blood test - a "CBC with differential" is what they call it. EOS are a type of white blood cells. they indicate allergies, like the IGe count does.

So that's very interesting to me that you have high IGe's and LPR. i am beginning too think that maybe my sore throat is some type of allergic reaction to what i am eating, or breathing (since i am a mouth breather.) My allergist did testing and said i am highly allergic to pollens and molds. Also, I have a few food sensitivities. Maybe LPR is immune related or triggered, rather than being a reflux thing? maybe if the UES releases it's own acid (like some studies suggest) then it is triggered by allergies? Like LES GERD is triggered by food? maybe that is why ppi's don't work on lpr? maybe we need to take singulair or something?

anyone tried that? also does anyone get freezing cold when they have a bad LPR attack?
