Hi,
Most definitely it could be related. Why not ask him to put you on a med called Singulair. It's helped my husband and also a friend who seem to suffer from allergies and coughing and asthma-type stuff but higher up in the airways.
Mouth breathing isn't that healthy for us...so if you can get your nose cleared up it could probably be helpful.
Check out the med, ask him to at least give you a script to try. You have to be on it for a while, and possibly seasonal for it to help you.
Definitely worth a try.
There's also an antihistamine called Aerius that's OK for asthmatics and I just started taking it. I find it makes me a bit "woozy", but still functioning OK.
You could also try to take Sudafed (if you don't have any heart problems)....it comes in 30 and 60 mg. I take 30 mg daily. Sure helps with my sinuses, eustachian tubes and the dizziness I have from a vestibular disorder.
I think it would be worth discussing at least some of those options with your doc. The Singulair would be my first choice since you have allergies and an unexplained disorder.
