View full discussion thread on HealthBoards.com: 21st July 2008 Hi,
I'm doing as well as can be expected, I guess. It seems everyone with PD has different problems (plus the major ones). I have had PD for about 10 years, looking back on it. In 1997 I could walk 4 miles a day. I kept going downhill since then. In 2004 I couldn't even walk around the block and then it was with stooping, dragging foot and no arm swing (just call me lurch). Saw Dr. for first time in 2005 for PD. I thought maybe I had had one of those mini-strokes that was causing the problems. Tried Requip and that didn't work, finally Sinemet in 2005 and that is what I've been taking ever since. It does cause some dyskinesia now though. I had seen an article that mentioned no arm swing in PD and that really hit home. I started doing some research on PD and figured I had it and saw my Dr. about it. I don't think I could have held off taking any meds for PD any longer than I did. Betty |
