   Time for a Cheer!!!!! :> :> :> (Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia board)

5th January 2006
Hi Everyone,

Everyone, let's hear a cheer and a big "Hook Em Horns!" for the University of Texas Football Team. They won the college football championship on Wed. night!!!!! I am surprised you did not hear the yelling all the way from Texas! :>

Oh yeah, even my parents - with alzheimers and dementia - were watching it tonight! I bet they did not make it to the end tho! But, I betcha that my almost 91 year old FIL did!!! And, I did not watch the game. I went to have to nice stress free time at the large bookstore with the coffee bar!!!! What a nice way to spend my evening - stress free and relaxing and reading and having a nice fattening specialty coffee. Try it sometimes, when you really need a break from caregiving. It sure does help.

Hope everyone is doing ok. My father is going back to his neurologist on Monday. I made the appointment for him and neither or my parents asked why we were going? I guess they think that it is a regular appt. Of course he has not gone to him in about 6 - 9 months. We will probably talk to the doctor and he will probably test him on both his alzheimers and his parkinsons. He is starting to have more tremors in his hands and legs (due to the parkingsons). We will see if the doctor (me slipping him a note, which he reads right there), will give him a different med. for that or just up his sinemet?! And the alzheimers - his 10 mg. that he got raised to about 6 - 9 mo. ago, is starting to not work as well. So, we will see if he has anything else to offer. If anyone has any meds, for alzheimers Medium - Late stage that work somewhat, let me know what they are before Monday.

Thanks everyone. If you can wade thru this conglomerate of a mess, you have done well!!!!! :>

Love, Wannabe
