Hello everyone and thank you for reading
I have had trouble falling and staying asleep for over 5 years now. My main problem is worrying if I will fall asleep tonight. I may fall asleep for an hour and then I pop right up, like I've slept for hours. I can feel my heart racing, so I leave the bedroom, go on the couch and fall asleep almost instantly. It's like I know I have to sleep in the bedroom (where the pressure is on) but on the couch, no pressure and then I fall asleep. Anyway, my doc put me on Serzone, which worked like a charm until they took it off the market a couple of months ago. She has now switched me to Zoloft. Tried 25 mg and could still feel the panic attack starting at bedtime. She upped it to 50 mg, and even though its working, I'm sleepy the next day and have since put on 5 pounds (I've been on the Zoloft about 6 weeks). The doc told me this might be a side effect and reading other posts, people can gain over 50 lbs on this drug.
What I'm asking is if anyone else has this problem, either with the anxiety or the Zoloft side effects, and any advice would be appreciated. I would love to find another medication like the Serzone I was on. It had no side effects at all. I'll be seeing my doc in a couple weeks.
Thanks in advance!! :)
