Alcohol with Meds.. (Addiction & Recovery board)

5th August 2007
 I don't know how many of you read my previous post but anyhow I am on my 4th ( technically the 5th since it is after 12:00 a.m)/ day of being opiate free...

I am currently taking 0.2 mg CLONIDINE, 1000 mcg B12 shots, and 50mg SEROQUEL...

I never really had a problem with Alcohol unless I was mixing pain pills and Alcohol... It was always one OR the other type thing ; that is until I noticed that I was taking too many pain pills...

Anyhow, I can't help but notice that even while on this detox that I cannot but help to drink a few beers here and there..... Is this a horrible step to my recovery? Or has anyone else done the same? Please fill me in with your thoughts...

Primarily, alcohol (and any other sedative hypnotic) will intensify the effects of the seroquel. Alcohol use is not recommended for people who take seroquel for this reason.
