Problem with my ears......any audiologist experts out there? (Open to All Health Related Topics board)

4th October 2003

About the fluid and crackling sound in your ears. I had the same thing and no one could say what it was either.

I believe it's related to mild inflamation in the ear canal. Antihystamines should make it better and if they do you probably have a low grade infection that is causing the problem (though allergies could do the same thing).

In my case a month of taking the antibiotic Septra helped clear most of it up. But I also found taking 1000mg of vitamin D started helping after a few weeks. Vitamin D is a known anti-viral, anti-bacteria agent, so perhaps it is helping on that score.

As far as the nose bleeds go. It's been my experience that nose bleeds that don't stop real fast represent a vitamin C deficiency. Perhaps you want to add a few hundred milligrams of C to your daily routine.
