Is it possible to get a bad batch of medicine? (Pain Management board)

19th February 2007
I also believe that there are bad batches here and there. In late 2000/2001, I had surgery on my left hand (we did my right hand first because I'm a lefty and wanted to see how it went). For the recovery period I was given #30 5mg Roxicet Oxycodone tablets. After I took one, it made me feel really sick. It's similar to the way Hydrocodone makes me feel: I can't tolerate it and it makes me feel really queasy. I tried more with food in my stomach, drank another half with milk etc. and they all had the same side effects.

Luckily I was able to bring the unused portion in to my pharmacy. After explaining the issue they called my doctor. In the end I ended giving them the unused Rocxicet for brand name Percocet. It was with a small pharmacy my family had been using for the past 20 years, so they had no problem going out of their way to help :)
