thank you so much for replying. We tried concerta- my son is on the gfcf diet and also is corn free. When he eats corn he becomes down right mean, obnoxious and aggressive annnnndddd also looses bladder control- apparently the leaky gut allows the corn protiens to seep into the blood stream and they some how must be closes enough in dna structure to fit into the neuro-receptors that control bladder. At least that is my rudementory understanding of it- any how when he took the concerta it looked just like he had consumed corn- alot of corn!!!!!!! It was down right ugly! So it makes me really nervous- because his reaction to corn and the concerta is extremely rare- not to many parents have posted similar issues- I searched extensively to try and understand what causes him to loses bladder control - and why it is related to what he eats. Our doc is really pushing the strattera so I suppose we will try it. I just dont want anything messing with his semen and i dont think there are very many garuntees with the meds these kids are on. He is a wonderful, brilliant child and deserves to have the choice of marriage and children. One doctor when I expressed my outrage and concern over the sterility side effects of risperdal said well, perhaps its not such a bad thing with these kids!
