I tapered off benzos before. I was very disciplined. I was not under a doctor's care. I did it on my own.
That would not be the case with opiates. At least for me. I would just eat them all.
Benzos are different for me in that I became accidentally addicted through prescription use. I never got high. I never looked forward to taking them. And when I stopped I never missed them.
And my ex is not a bottomless pit of drugs. He gave 5 restoril to taper with. So that's the plan. We're talking 10 days at the most here.
I can't debate the fact it would make sense to go to MD where there is civilization. I just really hated it there the few times I've been (sorry, if anyone's from MD) and it's a long freaking drive. I'm still pretty shaky from the opiate detox.
