There's not really a *brand* for the glycolic acid peels - you just want to be sure to get a buffered formula. I have two 30% ones - one has a pH of 2.8, the other is 2.6 - I would stay in that range. I don't know how to help you find a good place since I can't list one here - but like I said before, I paid $10 for 1 oz. and got free shipping.

You mentioned that you exfoliate every day - actually, that is not good for your skin. You really should only exfoliate 1-2 times per week. Especially if you're also using products like Renova/Differin, and/or doing peels.

Some other products that help with this are copper peptides. I use the ones from Skin Biology (although I don't always buy directly from them) - I use the CP serum & the Exfol serum. They promote skin remodeling. I also alternate between Renova & Differin every other night.

Something else I use (not sure that it helps with dark spots, but it does help with the skin tone) is DMAE.

Honestly, I am quite often thought to be at least 10 years younger than my actual age. I'm not saying that to brag, but just to show you that these products have made a definite difference for me. Not everyone will have the same results, but they have worked for me.

BlueEyedBelle: While we're on this subject, I wanted to ask you. When you said you used Renova every other night, do you still use the peels once a week as well?

Thanks to your advice several months ago, I now use the Glycolic peels and love the results. I also have some Renova my Derm gave me to use on some large dark blotches on my neck, so I have not used the peels since then, since I was not sure if I should use them weekly while using the Renova. Can you elaborate?

P.S. I also got my Glycolic acid at a great price doing a search on the internet. :bouncing:

Thanks,
Donna

Yes, I use the Renova on Mon., Wed., & Fri., Differin on Tues., Thurs., & Sat., then I do a glycolic acid peel on Sun.

Excellent, thanks, that's what I wanted to know.

What is the difference of the action between Renova & Differin?
Also, what strength of Glycolic you are using for this? Up to this point I have been using 50%.

Thanks,
Donna

Renova treats dark spots on the skin, helps diminish fine wrinkles, & smooths surface roughness.

Differin helps keep pores clear to control breakouts.

I use 30% glycolic acid for the peels & I spot treat any problems areas with 50%.

Ok all you ladies that keep mentioning Renova. Is it a perscription or can I get it online, over the counter, or do you have to look for it as an ingredient in certain products???

I have tried Shseido white lucent concentrated brightening serum but it's expensive, $115 for 1oz. I did find it cheaper on ebay..I have alot of sun damage and dark spots on my face. I have noticed a difference and so have my friends, but it's a very slow process. Becuz of the slowness, and cost, I too am trying to find other alternatives..
