Permanent Hair removal (Beauty & Cosmetics board)

Lili,

Pain was my LEAST consideration..lol I wanted this hair gone so badly, I think I would have taken lots worse pain for a few minutes to lose it.

Actually, it wasn't so bad at all. More like a snap with a rubber band kind of thing, and since it only lasted a couple of minutes, it was no problem.

Afterwards, it was a bit red, and stung some for an hour or two. Nothing unbearable, just noticeable. After a few hours the redness was gone. They gave me some cream to put on it.
The only thing I noticed later was the skin looked odd for a day or so, felt uneven. Makeup covered it easily.

The hair began to fall out on about day 10, and continued for a week or so. To my amazement, I only had about 10 dark hairs left! I waited until I began to see a bit more coming back in, before I went back, which was last week.

The best thing about it at this point is, most all the darkness left from the 5 o'clock shadow, that I had previously had after shaving there, was gone.
I had plucked for years, but several weeks prior to the LHR, they want you to shave it instead, so the root is still in place for the laser to destroy. That was very hard for me to do, I guess an emotional thing, as a woman.

If you have any light, or white hair there, it won't really get rid of it, because it only targets darker hair. If you have any left, electrolysis will take care of it. I also have some darker pigmentation from plucking so many years, which I hope will lighten up some now. Another kind of laser should help that, if needed. I am trying some Renova, and am also using the glycolic peels as well.

I consider this one of the best things I have done for myself, because of the emotional aspects of it bothering me for years. I can't believe what it has done for my self confidence.

Not sure if it's allowed, but there is a web forum devoted entirely to this subject, and gives lots of info and support for those with that problem, that I could point you to. That's where I got my 'education" on the subject, and it helped me tremendously.

Good luck,
Donna
